WHO IS GOD’S ANOINTED?

Hello Friends!

How do we identify false prophets so that we can “watch out” for them? They look just like us—like sheep—but inwardly, they are “ferocious wolves.” So how do we recognize them?

This week, we had the privilege of speaking with the astute and insightful Lynn Demerise about recognizing narcissists. Unfortunately, some of them stand in the pulpit. I know many amazing pastors who exhibit not even a hint of narcissism. I love these brothers and sisters and deeply honor them.

We also address the ongoing exposure of deceivers on social media and in the mainstream. Some of our favorite personality-driven evangelists use information from our social media profiles to trick us into believing they have a “word from the Lord” for us at their massive events. Wow—how cunningly evil. But if you miss them already, don’t worry; they’ll probably be “restored” in eight months or less by God’s other “anointed overseers.”

If you dare to expose them publicly, you might be warned, “Touch not God’s anointed.” But what does that really mean? What qualifies someone as “God’s anointed” and makes them untouchable? Is it simply having a clergy license? Pastoring a church? Amassing wealth and attracting people who lose sight of the importance of character?

It seems that today, to be considered “God’s anointed,” character is no longer a requirement. You can be a drunkard, a groomer, a pedophile, or a repeat adulterer, and still be shielded by the defensive statement: “Touch not the Lord’s anointed.”

Even more disturbing is that those who use this phrase to silence those with righteous anger—those who seek to expose these wolves—end up undermining their own credibility. People are losing respect. So what is the answer?

We were blessed to hear from many who have come forward, including Ray and Sharmin Holtzclaw, parents of a victim from Faith Life Church, who bravely shared their story of discovering this painful reality. They also spoke about the alleged spiritual abuse they experienced at Faith Life Church in Ohio, under the Keesee ministry.
