Pandemic of Panic: Climate Catastrophizing

Climate catastrophe or political catastrophizing what is really going on? “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” Isaiah 41:10 Mark Simone put together and published 120 years of climate scares that were pushed by “scientists.” In his essay, he highlights publications starting as early as 1895 citing a NY Times piece claiming geologists were predicting us entering another ice age. Then just 7 years later he highlights a Los Angeles Times article which stated that it was a “scientific fact that the glaciers were melting, and their “annihilation” was “inevitable.” For the next 30 years after multiple predictions of an imminent ice age and global freezing the calls for Global warming began anew. This persisted citing different causes including the rise in Carbon dioxide. Fast forward to 1969 when the call of a new ice age reappears along with the cry of overpopulation as a contributor to the coming global crisis that will destroy the globe by the year 2000. The 1980s brought back Global warming which persisted with a clarion call for global initiative to protect us from the coming disasters proclaimed in Al Gore’s 2007 “Inconvenient Truth”. Since then, we have been bombarded with scares and pronouncements and increasing hysteria of the coming of the end of the world, think AOC and Greta Thunberg….and it is all OUR fault. We humans are the scourge of the planet, and the earth would be better off without us, so it is implied. Since 1895, the media has flip-flopped from global cooling and warming scares. Since the 80s we have been accosted by what some call, the fourth wave of climate catastrophizing which ultimately went from global warming to climate change. This moniker has stuck.  Most recently we heard the pronouncement of Global Boiling from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as we witnessed the “wildfires” raging across Canada, the US, and around the world. Is this a fair assessment or just the latest means of filling us with fear for our future and the fate of our world?  Many of us have families and friends who watched helplessly as their homes and properties burned to the ground across Canada. Bodies are still washing up on the shores of Maui and the heartbreak is real. Governments and media are telling us it is our fault, that climate change (global boiling) is causing these fires, despite discovering that some were due to arson and many suspect that there are more suspicious things happening around these fires than the mainstream is letting on. Tragedy is devastating no matter the cause of it.   However, when it becomes a tool for a greater evil, to fill us with fear and manipulate the truth to coerce us into capitulation, we need to pay attention.In this week's newsletter, we will share with you interviews and commentaries of what was actually happening with some of these fires and some insights that might belay any concern about the natural world taking revenge on us for mistreating “Mother Earth”. The climate narrative is a very dangerous one and is tied to the UN Agenda 2030 to bring greater control into our lives. Mark Morano predicted the attemp to use climate as the next attempt at lockdowns. Is the real game to keep us in a constant state of fear and anxiety? Considering both are known means of trying to control others it is worth exploring.  The fact is life is uncertain, “we know neither the day nor the hour” but we can find hope in God, in our communities, in our families, and in our resilience from having made it through so much this far. I am committed to shed light on the lies, bring truth to the forefront, and provide valuable information along the way that can help us cope better and heal from the physical and spiritual trauma we are living. God Bless,Laura-Lynn
