Have you done this in the last three years? You’re finished work, and done with dinner, so you grab a cup of hot tea and plunk yourself down in front of the TV to catch the news. CBC, always diligent in covering what Canadians truly care about, presents Trudeau making a speech on diversity and inclusivity in his special tone. Chrystia Freeland nods agreeingly behind him.  Then there’s the bragging about his excellent tenure and the great job he’s done during his tyranny, completely dismissing that we are sinking into a quagmire of debt and inflation. You roll your eyes, slap your hand down on the chair rest and mumble something as your spouse asks what you’re saying.  Exasperated you yell, “Are we living in the twilight zone?”  You turn to CTV which is reporting an irate MP in the House of Commons asking if the Prime Minister will please acknowledge his blatant corruption (pounding the table), demanding “Yes or no!?!” Next up, a drag queen is suing a woman for hurting his feelings by yelling at him in the women’s bathroom and subsequently the judge chastises the woman for her lack of inclusion. You throw your head back in disbelief and wonder if the entire world is being punked. What is going on?  You can’t stand it anymore, so you flip the channel to some American news for a laugh.  On CNN, Kamala Harris announced, “The border is closed, because in the cosmos, we know, the border is closed, cackle, cackle.” More indecipherable sounds tumble out of your mouth uncontrollably, as your forehead wrinkles.  Your family looks at you carefully from the kitchen, monitoring for other signs of dementia.  You change the channel to FOX News as the on-location Texas reporter is showing tens of thousands of young military-aged illegals making their way through the broken ‘wall’.  It’s on to MSNBC where Biden squints to read the giant words on his teleprompter. You find yourself reading ahead of him.  You wonder what he just said and you can’t help staring at his forehead, it’s so smooth.  Does he get Botox?  Did you know Joe is running for President again? Despite looking more like the character Mr. Tudball from a Carol Burnette Show skit than a presidential candidate, as he shuffles off to the left of the stage. Jill saves him from exiting under the rain tarp where the stage has a sudden drop and she motions him towards his secret service detail, whom he initially doesn’t recognize.  The NBC newscast host states firmly that they "know" Biden can win in 2024. But are somehow completely baffled the “Dictator”, Trump, seems to be winning the hearts of most Americans.  Left-wing commentators are beside themselves, “Have you seen the polls?" It is unfathomable! America has been radicalized by freedom-loving, white evangelicals. Yes, we know the Latino and African American communities also like Trump now, but they’ve been hoodwinked by people who don’t get that men can have babies!  Clearly, half the country is in a mass state of delusion" (the host pushes their glasses back on their nose). "We cannot afford to air Trump’s speeches or give people a choice - we will lose our democracy,” they exclaim excessively wide-eyed with a feverish, petrified tone.     As your mouth hangs open, you don’t have words to respond to the idiocy you are witnessing.  Are we in a giant play or on Candid Camera? You look over at your concerned spouse and remember to swallow. Is the Truman Movie what you have been transported into? Nothing makes sense.  The world has gone mad and you wonder if you are losing your ever-loving mind. This is why you will love our show.  We’re not crazy.  They are.  We make sense.  We see the world the way you do and when you sit back to watch, you will take a deep breath of fresh air and thank God that someone understands how you feel.  Tune in more often. We know what they are up to and we expose it. While the truth can be unsettling there is comfort in knowing it is being reported on. This week’s newsletter brings you a lineup of guests doing some very substantive veil-lifting.
